The international conference “New Directions in Textual Scholarship” will be held over two days, consisting of a Saitama Session on March 26 at Saitama University, and a Tokyo Session on March 27 at the Printing Museum in Tokyo.

On Thursday March 25, between 3 and 6 pm , there will be a Registration Session in the Japanese Suite at the Urawa Royal Pines Hotel. * We hope that you will come by and enjoy this opportunity to meet and chat with your fellow attendees. During this time we will also be distributing conference materials. If you will be attending the banquet, we would like to ask that you provide us with the fee at that time. We are also pleased to offer the chance for you to partake of a traditional Japanese tea service at that time (20 minutes per person).

On Friday the 26th, from 7 to 9 pm, the conference banquet will be held in Banquet Hall Twenty-One in the Urawa Royal Pines Hotel.

There will be no charge for registration or for the Registration Session, excluding the banquet and lunches (we will serve drinks and light meals during the conference).

Pre-registration forms must be received by January 30th, 2010 in order for us to prepare for the conference.

Workshop/Excursion to Kyoto: We plan to organize an excursion to Kyoto for participants from abroad on March 28 and 29. Details will be announced later. If you are interested, please indicate so on the registration form. Kyoto is the old capital of Japan, located approximately two-and-a-half hours from Tokyo by express train. If you would like to attend the excursion, we suggest that a return flight departing from Kansai International Airport (KIX) on March 30 would be more convenient than returning to Narita Airport in Tokyo.
